Taos Arts pairs a present-day "spark" — a news item, an anniversary, a small local event — with a historical person, place, or tradition it connects to. Every story is built the same way:
- A research assistant scans for possible sparks and drafts a package: the spark, a candidate historical connection, suggested reference images with their license and credit already attached, and a note explaining the reasoning — never finished copy.
- A human editor reviews every package in a queue. Most get culled. The ones that hold up get written — the actual prose is never generated, only researched.
- Every image that runs carries a visible credit line — source, license, and a link to the original — as a hard requirement of the system, not an editorial nicety.
